About

Philippe HauslerPhilippe Hausler - Independent Software Developer

I am a software developer with focus on Mac OS X and iPhone/iPod development. This website is a brief and potentially informative colloquy of programming spattered from my projects. A brief history in the life of Philippe; I started out programming at an extremely early age on a Macintosh SE (brand new at the time) with Basic and fell in love with code. Ever since then I have had a tenacity for learning and expanding my programming skills.

For me, it is more so an art than a science. There is beauty in the function, a pleasant gesture in the compiler and an overall non-quantitative sense about code. If art emulates life, code must undoubtably emulate art. So I have set forth to share a bit of my artistic side with others.

In my palette I have numerous languages and platforms to write for. Just as Pablo Picasso had his phases of paintings, I too have similar phases of code. My latest phase is Cocoa: an object oriented programming language used primarily for Mac OS X and iPhones.

Even though Cocoa is my current focus and a primary topic on this site, but there are a few other languages that I write in. Just to name a few: C/C++, Perl, PHP, SQL, Lua, AppleScript, Modula, XML and many others (last I checked about 40 or so in total).
